Personal reasons to discard “miracle 19” – (Reason 1)

I haven’t blogged in a while, but that’s just because the “debate_mode” was on and in full function. Now it’s time to write down a few conclusions.

Code19 (and some may hate it being called a code, but rather miracle) would be one of the first obstacles to anyone who decides to completely deny hadith and sunnah to study Quran alone. The first person I added on fb (which was basically the first “course book” in this school of thought) was a believer in Rashad Khalifa as a messenger, or some would like to call a “19er” or a “submitter”. All well, of course. I only use these nick-names to know who I’m talking about (same as naming a jar (a) and the other (b), no biggy, no categorizing intended whatsoever).

I first fell in its snare. It’s a trap, in my opinion. It really is! I was afraid with a “hunger to believe“; “hadith is wrong, what do I do now? How do I pray?

I had been introduced to Khalifa’s so-claimed miracle before. Never paid any attention to the numbers. I had read so much regarding the legality of music on, but never regarding any “miracles”. Guess I was a “Science Miracle” person.

Now, let us start listing the reasons why I moved far off from 19, and some reasons why there may be a scientific miracle, but it should not be ruining our logic or have any role in tafsir.

Reason 1: The Jinns.

Skipping the 101 lectures and the “are jinns humans?” debates, the Jinns gave a straight-forward reason to believe in the quran [not the dhikr, but specifically the quran].

I’ve had many 19ers tell me that believing in the quran without proof makes me no better than the Christians who consider the Bible to be God’s word despite all the changes and editing without proof.

Have the jinns made that “mistake”? (Side note: no, it does NOT say “Oh, Muhammad”. The book must be talking to you (as Farouk likes to state)).

72:1 – Say, “It has been revealed to me that a group [nafar: a seperated/out-of-place group] of the jinn listened and said, ‘Indeed, we have heard an amazing [‘ajaba: great/high/amazing] Qur’an.72:2 – It guides to the right course, and SO [fa] we have believed in it. And we will never associate with our Lord anyone.

The only reason they believed in it [beside the other points you can find when reading on (72:1-15)] is that it was a guidance to rushd [straightness]].

They didn’t ask for any code. Didn’t ask for any supernatural sign.

72: 13 – And when we heard the guidance, we believed in it. And whoever believes in his Lord will not fear deprivation or burden.
